Nordic nRF52840 on a small SMD module – BLE 5, Bluetooth Mesh, Zigbee/Thread, 8 dBm
The nRF52840 is the chip behind most serious Bluetooth LE products – keyboards, trackers, wearables, Thread sensors – and this E73 module packages it with the crystal, decoupling and a ceramic chip antenna on castellated pads, so a two-layer PCB with no RF design is enough. The radio does Bluetooth 5 LE (long range and 2 Mbit), Bluetooth Mesh, Zigbee and Thread, with 8 dBm transmit power and ≈120 m open-air range. The microcontroller has USB, NFC-A, 48 GPIO, 12-bit ADC, QSPI, SPI/I2C/UART and crypto hardware. Program it with Nordic nRF Connect SDK / Zephyr, Arduino (Adafruit nRF52 core) or CircuitPython; a J-Link or an ST-LINK with OpenOCD works for SWD. FCC, CE and RoHS certified. Variants without antenna (IPEX) are available on request.
